@Anonymous I just checked on a similar syncing solution for iOS. There is one, but you need to jailbreak your iPhone/iPod and download it via Cydia. The app itself is called “wi-fi sync”: http://www.getwifisync.com/
Regarding your doubts about the Hengedock damaging your Macbook: Don’t worry. There is no way that could happen. I use it since several weeks now and everything is ok.

Not sure what’s available for ios devices, probably is something similar out there, You done a great review of the henge dock, was thinking of getting one for my MBP 13″ but my only fear is repeated use and possible damage to the laptop.

You should check out a program called tunesync . It can sync tunes over home network wifi, works great once i get into range of my home network it automatically updates my playlists and podcasts without me having to even dock my phone!!
